Whit Baldwin has more than 30 years’ experience as a helicopter and airplane pilot, accumulating more than 10,000 hours of flight time across the U.S.

Whit founded HeloAir in 1993. Over the years, Whit has expanded HeloAir’s aviation services from executive charter and news gathering to include emergency response services, power line patrol for utilities, drone recovery missions for the U.S. Navy, NASCAR, frost patrol, firefighting, and aerial photography. His work filming the dome of the U.S. Capitol in celebration of its 150th anniversary was featured on 60 Minutes. Today HeloAir operates 11 helicopters; 206 BIII’s, 407’s and a 427.

In addition to creating a company that is committed to safety, diversity and providing a family friendly workplace, Whit is dedicated to giving back to the community. HeloAir supports the VCU Massey Cancer Center, American Red Cross, serves as Chairman of the board for Comfort Zone Camp and other various other charitable endeavors. HeloAir received the Richmond Chamber of Commerce’s Impact Award in 2005, which identifies the small business that gives the most back to the community.

Whit graduated from Mary Washington College in 1985 with a degree in Business Administration. He stays active in road races and triathlons, and belongs to Hope Church in Goochland.
