With our Trakka SWE 400-Quad or FLIR Corona 350 cameras we are able to provide you with all of you routine patrol needs.  Our technology gives us the opportunity to detect UV/corona events, IR events, provide HD video and stills, all GPS stamped as well as patrol for the following defects:

Structures

  • Leaning structures
  • Damaged Poles
  • Broken, slack, or corroded guy wires
  • Broken, corroded, or buried guys
  • Bent, Broken, missing members of braces and crossarms
  • Packout (corrosion build-up)
  • Woodpecker damage
  • Bird or animal activity/nests
  • Missing aerial numbers
  • Aerial light defective

Conductors

  • Damaged Conductor and Shield Wire
  • Loose or missing dampers
  • Loose or missing spacers
  • Blown or damaged lightning arrestors
  • Basketed, missing, loose, or misaligned armor rods
  • Splice defects
  • Broken or damaged bonding

Insulators and Hardware

  • Contaminated, broken, chipped, cracked, or flashed insulators
  • Missing or backed out cotter key
  • Loose, missing, or damaged pins
  • Missing, disconnected, slipped, or misaligned hardware

Row

  • Encroachments (dirt piled under conductors, pools, trampolines, deer stands, etc.)
  • Vegetation concerns (dead trees, encroaching vegetation, etc.)
  • Construction activity w/in ROW

At the end of each inspection, we can provide a comprehensive report of all of the above and more with our trained observers, whom have over 20 years of transmission and distribution experience, as well as related aviation experience.   We also can give you the entire line filmed in its entirety as well as a automated flight following track log to keep for your records.
